Revista Pares is a project promoted and edited by Red Académica Pares (RAP) formed by members from several countries of the American continent, based in Argentina. Born in January 2021 with the purpose of opening an independent, interdisciplinary and international space for scientific publication of research results and debates in social sciences. Its name “PARES” is intended to convey, along with the requirements of scientific rigour and academic excellence, the principles of equality and solidarity between researchers/ers. The team that makes up the magazine expresses these same principles in its work. Our vision for the future is to become a decisive stage in the discussion of political and social issues in our countries. To this end, one of its main goals is the global dissemination of the magazine, particularly in the Americas.
Revista Pares permanently receives works for all its sections: articles, research advances, book reviews, debates, interviews and translations. The papers must be sent to informes-recepcion@revistapares.com.ar indicating in the subject “Peer Review Call” and respecting the editorial rules indicated below.
Scope and editorial policy
Revista Pares publishes original and unpublished academic productions in Spanish, English and Portuguese. Texts can be of the following genres: articles, research advances, book reviews, debates, interviews and translations. They must conform to the disciplines of the social sciences (political science, law, philosophy, history, international relations, sociology and related subjects). The Editorial Committee will decide on the relevance of each contribution received according to the adequacy of the work with the requirements below.
All papers submitted must undergo a double-blind evaluation process (see evaluation sheet). Consignments shall comply with the following requirements:
1- To be unpublished works which, moreover, are not simultaneously in the process of being evaluated for publication.
2- Contribute to the area of Social Sciences (Political Science, Law, Philosophy, History, International Relations, Sociology and others related) highlighting the way in which the themes addressed contribute to current lines of debate of the disciplines.
3- Demonstrate the application of a clear and rigorous methodology, as well as a consistent analysis of data, if any.
4- Submit original results.
5- Have a conceptual development and a relevant and up-to-date bibliography on their subject.
In the first place, the Editorial Committee will be responsible for verifying that the papers received are linked to the guidelines proposed by the magazine, so it will have the power to reject those who did not. In turn, the work should respect internal coherence and conform to current editorial standards. Those works that violate the editorial rules will be rejected outright and the decision of the committee will be final. The same shall apply in case of detection of partial or total plagiarism or self-flagging.
Second, those works that pass the first revision by the Editorial Committee will be sent to external referee, respecting the double blind. This means that the evaluation period is subject to the timing and availability of the evaluators/s. Revista Pares will promote, in this sense, a responsible practice in the management of evaluation times so that these do not extend beyond what is reasonable.
Open access
Revista Pares allows any user to read, copy, download, distribute or print the works published here without financial, legal or technical limitations, in order to use the information for any purpose responsible by appropriate recognition of authorship.
Fees for sending and publishing texts
Revista Pares does not charge fees for sending articles, nor does it charge fees related to the publishing process: review, correction, layout, printing and distribution (No APC). As an open access magazine, there is no charge for access or download.
Articles per year
Revista Pares has published between 13 and 15 articles during the years 2021-2022, resulting in an annual average of 14 articles. It should be noted that the number of articles published corresponds to the editorial flow of the journal.
Scientific content
At least 90% of the contributions in each issue are original results of scientific research, which are subject to blind peer review, with the exception of the remaining percentage comprising at least one interview conducted by a member of the journal and evaluated by the Editorial Board.
Exogeneity of publications
In line with the previous point, Revista Pares gives priority to publications of scientific papers produced by collaborations outside the institution, thus establishing that only one member of the journal may publish a number, while the rest of the publications will be contributions from authors outside the institution.
Sources of financing
Revista Pares does not receive funds from outside the publishing institution.
Periodicity
Revista Pares has a six-monthly periodicity, publishing two issues per year in electronic format, one in June and the other in December. Its content is open access in PDF and HTML.

Self-archiving policy
Revista Pares has a self-archiving policy that gives authors the freedom to archive the post-print version (the version published in the journal) in repositories, institutional pages, personal websites, blogs, or any other electronic medium. Revista Pares encourages the authors/s to share and disseminate their articles already published in our journal in other media, as long as they provide bibliographic information that proves their first publication in Revista Pares.
